Farmers Insurance and the University of Farmers received the corporate awards at the 13th Annual gala CUX Awards for Excellence and Innovation in Corporate Learning. The event was held as part of the three-day Global Leadership Congress at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia from May 15-17, 2012.
The Corp U Awards for Excellence and Innovation are the longest running independent evaluation of corporate learning and talent programs in the United States. The corporate awards honor corporate, non-profit and government learning organizations that improve both business and employee performance through Alignment, Alliances, Branding, Launching, Leadership Development, Learning Technology, and Measurement.
A panel of independent, expert judges from companies including Ernst and Young, Westinghouse, GE Energy, and Aon Hewitt scored the award applicants based on various criteria specific to each category.

3D Systems Named as American Technology Award Finalist

HACR Recognizes 30 Young Professionals
HACR's "Young Hispanic Corporate Achievers(TM)" gathered in Chicago in April
The Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility recognized 30 young professionals at the 2012 HACR Young Hispanic Corporate Achievers(TM) (YHCA) Program in Chicago, IL. The corporate awards reception was held at the Fairmont Chicago on April 17 and was sponsored by Altria.
"I was honored to be a part of presenting the awards to the winners of the Young Hispanic Corporate Achievers award in Chicago. Corporate Value Awards Given in Indiana
The Indiana chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) announced the 2012 winners of its 8th Annual Corporate Value Awards last evening. These corporate awards recognize Indiana-based companies whose energy, creativity and Hoosier ingenuity represent the best characteristics of the Indiana business community. These companies have successfully developed and executed significant growth initiatives within the past year.
Corporate awards are granted in four categories: Small Cap Value, Large Cap Value, Deal of the Year, and the Vision Award. Award winners were selected from among many nominees to represent companies with sales under $500 million and with sales over $500 million, as well as those that pursued a growth strategy through acquisition.
Recipients of the award were recognized at a dinner on May 3rd at Union Station. The dinner was sold out and nearly 300 of Indiana's top M&A deal making professionals were in attendance. Institute for the Blind Award Supported by ahlibank

Webby Award Winners Announced
The winners of the 2012 Webby Awards were announced on Tuesday.
Established in 1996, the Webby Awards are arguably the Internet's best-known honors. After starting small, the Webbys now hand out more than 100 corporate awards each year.
Many of each year's honorees tend to be celebrities, big companies or well-known online entities. Among this year's big winners are Pinterest (best social media app), photo-sharing app Instagram (breakout of the year), and the comedian Louis C.K., honored by the Webbys for creating "a new precedent for distribution" by releasing his comedy special through his own website.
A raft of advertising and corporate awards for websites have also been added over the years. But the Internet being the Internet, there will always be lesser-known, innovative and downright quirky winners as well.

MGM Resorts Earn Diversity Best Practices Awards
MGM Resorts International was just named to DiversityInc's list of 25 noteworthy companies, and was among the top ten companies for Latinos. The recent corporate awards mark the seventh consecutive year the company has been recognized for its ethnic Diversity and Inclusion Initiative. DiversityInc ranks companies for diversity programs based on results of an annual survey.
Of the 587 companies eligible to participate in the recently completed survey, MGM Resorts is the only business headquartered in Nevada and the only gaming entity to earn one of the corporate awards.
Executive Vice President and Chief Diversity Officer Phyllis James said "As Nevada's largest private company, we make it a business imperative to be a leader in all forms of corporate social responsibility, including diversity and inclusion. We applaud our employees for genuinely and effectively embracing the principles of diversity and inclusion, and we are deeply honored to be recognized by DiversityInc for having one of the foremost corporate diversity and inclusion initiatives in our nation. Approximately 63% of the company's 61,000 employees are minorities. Management personnel include 42% women and 38% minorities involved in supervisory positions. The company runs a Diversity Champion Training Workshop and has graduated 11,000 Diversity Champions since its inception.

Festival Winners Announced at Asian Marketing Gala
The Asian Marketing Effectiveness Festival has been brought to a close with its 10th Awards Ceremony, seeing the much anticipated winners announced, honored and celebrated.
35 jury members, led by James Thompson, Chief Marketing Officer, Diageo Asia Pacific, came together in Shanghai to judge and deliberate over the record 971 entries, from 21 countries, which were received into the corporate awards this year. 115 entries made it to the shortlist and from this the jury have awarded 51 winners: 1 Platinum, 11 Gold, 14 Silver and 25 Bronze. Australia took home the most trophies with 16, followed by India with 10 and China and Singapore both with 6.
The sought-after Platinum trophy, given to the entry that has truly combined innovation, creativity and effectiveness, has this year been awarded to Clemenger BBDO & Clemenger Proximity Melbourne, Australia, for their Integrated Marketing Campaign for the National Australia Bank, 'Break Up'. This, along with all of the winners, was revealed to a busy and excited audience at the Awards Ceremony Gala Dinner taking place at the Pudong Shangri-La Hotel in Shanghai.

2012 CYBF Chairman's Awards Opened
The Canadian Youth Business Foundation (CYBF) announced today the launch of the 2012 CYBF Chairman's Awards for Best Business, a celebration and recognition of CYBF's successful young entrepreneurs from across Canada. HandsOn Jacksonville Award Goes to Aetna
Last year, nine Ribault High students joined a special program to help support and provide mentors to disadvantaged youngsters. Today, those nine are juniors and seniors planning to attend college on scholarships.
Their mentoring and scholarships have been provided by Aetna in Jacksonville as part of its Professional Opportunity Program for Students. It's because of such programs — one of many organized by Aetna employees — that the company was presented one of HandsOn Jacksonville's highest corporate awards this year, the 2012 Edward R. Hayes Award for united in action, at Thursday night's Celebrate!GOOD event.
The corporate awards are named after a Jacksonville civic leader who has dedicated his life to inspiring and motivating people to treat each other with respect and dignity. It is presented annually to an individual or group that has successfully worked to unify people through inspiration and action.
Last year, the Aetna Foundation made grants to numerous organizations in Jacksonville, including $25,000 to the American Heart Association, $25,000 to the Baptist Health Foundation, $25,000 to WJCT, $15,000 to the American Diabetes Association, $10,000 to Volunteers in Medicine, $5,000 to Communities in Schools of Jacksonville, and $5,000 to HandsOn Jacksonville.
The money helps nonprofit organizations promote wellness and increase access to high-quality health care.

Hyatt Thrive Leadership Awards Launched
Hyatt Hotels Corporation have announced the winners of the inaugural Hyatt Thrive Leadership Awards recognizing full service, managed hotels, resorts, and field offices for their outstanding commitment in 2011 to initiatives aligned with Hyatt’s global corporate responsibility platform Hyatt Thrive. Minority Businesses in Northern California and Hawaii Celebrated with Diversity Awards
The Northern California Minority Supplier Development Council (NCMSDC), a local non-profit dedicated to promoting minority supplier development, announced the winners of its 2011 Excellence in Supplier Diversity Awards at its 34th Annual Gala on April 6 in San Francisco. FAA Diamond Award for Excellence Awarded to DynCorp International
DynCorp International has earned the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) prestigious Diamond Award for Excellence for its support of the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE). DI flies and maintains Grumman S-2T fire retardant air tankers and OV-10A aircraft, and fully maintains and services civilian UH-1H Super Huey helicopters flown by CAL FIRE pilots.

The FAA's Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) Award program is based entirely on the commitment of maintenance technicians to improve safety by actively participating in initial and recurring training programs to further their technical knowledge. In addition to the Diamond Award, which is presented to the company, each mechanic receives an Aviation Maintenance Technician award based on the number of training hours logged.

PSFU Awards Supplement Recognize the Best Business Associations
The Private Sector Foundation Uganda (PSFU) recently awarded the best companies in the area of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in Children affairs. PSFU also awarded the best performing business associations from all regions in Uganda. MTN-Uganda emerged as the overall winner for the CSR category and Uganda Insurers Association as the overall national winner for the associations.
The event took place at Serena Hotel on February 24 and was attended by various PSFU stakeholders, corporate companies, PSFU members and the general public. PSFU has been recognizing the best performing associations since 2009. This year, PSFU together with Bernard Van Leer Foundation, added another category for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
Purpose of the corporate awards:The CSR award recognizes associations and corporate bodies which have supported the welfare of children in various ways. It is aimed at encouraging corporate companies engage in more programs that improve the welfare of children in Uganda. Uganda's youngest citizens need a boost. The first years of a child's life lay the foundation for his or her future. Without proper nutrition, health care, protection from harm and opportunities to learn, children will be at a disadvantage for the rest of their lives.
This is the second youngest population in the world. A total of 10.8 million children are between the ages of 0 to 8, a period when brain development occurs most rapidly in life. According to Gideon Badagawa, the PSFU executive director, it takes an entire society to ensure that young children reach their full potential.
With these corporate awards, PSFU hopes to stimulate investments in young children through the private sector. "Through such collaborations, small firms can achieve a competitive advantage. As a growing economy, there is need to encourage formation of long-term relationships that rely on the incentives of repeated interactions in order to overcome institutional failure and make significant contributions to productivity, exports and growth" Badagawa added.

Pampanga Meat Processing Firm Bags Award
Madrid-based Business Initiative Directions (BID) gave the Century International Quality Era (CQE) Gold Award to meat processing company Mekeni Food Corp. during its 14th convention on March 11 in Geneva, Switzerland.
Prudencio Garcia, Mekeni president, shared the news last week in a letter to Levy Laus, chairman of the Pampanga Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PamCham).
“We would like to share with you and our PamCham members the good news that once again Mekeni Food Corp. had scored another first in the Philippines’ food industry by being awarded the Century International Quality Era-Gold Award,” Garcia said.
The award, he said, put Mekeni in the league of top global corporations that have been recognized for quality.
In a statement, Laus lauded Mekeni, saying it now serves as a model to Kapampangan and Filipino businessmen in terms of product quality and corporate excellence.

United Way Recognizes 22 Corporate and Agency Partners
Greater Twin Cities United Way last week recognized 22 corporate and agency partners at its annual “Best Of Awards”—and three of the top corporate awards went to Arden Hills-based agricultural cooperative Land O’Lakes, Eden Prairie-based vehicle financing and fleet management provider GE Capital Fleet Services, and Minneapolis-based law firm Bassford Remele.
In their respective size categories, each of the three companies won “best in show,” which recognized the best overall campaigns with regard to employee participation and engagement.

MaltaPost Awards Employees at Annual Meeting
During its recent annual staff meeting, MaltaPost employees were given an update on the company’s performance of the previous year by Chairman Joseph Said, and a number of postal employees were presented with special corporate awards for their performance and accomplishments during the past year.

The winner was selected according to specific criteria, which include activities outside working hours carried out for the benefit of the community as well as the employee’s honesty and integrity on the place of work.
Other corporate awards were given to the Corporate Security Section for attaining the Universal Postal Union Quality of Service Award for Best Management for the project entitled ‘Security of the Physical Postal Network’. Alexander Sammut was given the Long Service Award for 30 years of service. Automotive Industry Leaders Honored by AIAG
AIAG honored five individuals last evening with awards for outstanding achievement in recognition of their contributions and overall dedication to corporate responsibility in the global automotive industry. AIAG, a not-for-profit, member-supported organization that works with a wide range of manufacturing companies and service providers to help them operate at peak performance, also recognized 11 others for outstanding leadership on AIAG corporate responsibility projects. The organization presented the corporate awards during a ceremony at its 2012 Corporate Responsibility Summit.

RSA(R) Conference Announces 15th Annual Awards Recipients
RSA Conference, the world's leading information security conferences and expositions, today announced the honorees of its 15th annual corporate awards program. Award applicants were judged in the fields of mathematics, public policy and security practices. Also presented this year was a lifetime achievement award given out to an individual who has made a big impact in information security over the last 21 years. Biham, a professor and dean of the Computer Science department at the Technion-Israeli Institute of Technology, co-discovered the technique of differential cryptanalysis with Adi Shamir in the late 1980's. Dr. Matsui, inspired by Biham and Shamir's work, discovered the technique of linear cryptanalysis in 1993. The following year, he was the first to publicly report an experimental cryptanalysis of DES.
Excellence in the Field of Public Policy Award Congressman Mac Thornberry (R-TX), Chair of the House Republican Task Force on Cyber Security Mac Thornberry, a lifelong resident of the 13th District of Texas, has established himself as a leader in national security, an area in which he continues to be given new responsibilities and opportunities to help advance the security of our nation. In early 2011, Thornberry was tapped by the Speaker of the House and Majority Leader to spearhead a Cyber Security Task Force to guide House legislative action on the growing national security and economic threat. Charged with making recommendations in a number of areas including protecting critical infrastructure and sharing cyber security information, the Task Force released its recommendations on October 5, 2011 to favorable response from both sides of the House and the Senate, as well as the White House, private businesses and other outside organizations.

Corporate Excellence Honored in India
The time to recognize the scriptwriters of the India story was perfect. On a day the Sensex rallied past the 18,000 mark, a power-packed jury comprising six of India Inc’s leading decision-makers selected the winners of Business Standard’s annual corporate awards for excellence.
The jury made the selection process look easy and took just over an hour to arrive at decisions based on a shortlist prepared by the Business Standard Research Bureau. That was remarkable, considering they had to pore over reams of data and select not only the CEO of the Year, but also achievers in other categories: public sector undertakings, multinational companies and small and medium enterprises. The pleasant surprises thrown up by the data and their discussions prompted the jury to opt for a Company of the Year category for the third year in a row.
The consensus was it was a consumer story all the way — over 90 per cent of companies that made it to the initial shortlist were in consumer-facing businesses. “The data proved once again that India’s consumer story is intact,” said ICICI Bank and Infosys Chairman K V Kamath, head of the jury.
The corporate awards will be given away in Mumbai next month.

Canadian Mid-Market M&A Firm Receives Prestigious Awards

Toronto Construction Association Presents ‘Best of the Best’ Awards
The Toronto Construction Association (TCA) has saluted outstanding achievements by both member companies and individuals in its 14th annual “Best of the Best” Awards.
The association, which represents close to 2,200 companies, presented 2011 project achievement corporate awards in three categories. It also honored firms that best demonstrate a green building culture. Outstanding safety performance was recognized as well.
“These awards are part of a concerted effort by TCA to recognize the outstanding builders in our community and our industry,” said retiring TCA chair Glenn Ackerley, a partner in WeirFoulds.
The project achievement corporate awards pay tribute to member companies who raise the bar in terms of professional excellence on small projects (valued at under $10 million), medium-sized projects (under $100 million) and large projects (over $100 million).

‘Rising Star’ Nominations Opened
Nominations have opened for this year’s Yorkshire Rising Star Awards.
Organized by financial recruiter Sharp Consultancy, with support from Grant Thornton, Barclays Corporate and Cobbetts, the corporate awards set out to find high-caliber accountants.
Awards categories include companies with a turnover under £25m, over £25m and over £150m. There will be a plc award and a category for public sector organizations, as well as the coveted Overall Rising Star award, scooped last year by Chris Pennington of SSP.
The rigorous judging procedure will include an interview with a panel of judges from Sharp Consultancy, Grant Thornton, Barclays Corporate and Cobbetts. The judges then meet to discuss the Rising Star hopefuls, with the input of an independent adjudicator. Final results will be announced at a black-tie corporate awards gala dinner on May 17 at Oulton Hall Hotel in Leeds.

Keep Northern Illinois Beautiful is looking for nominations for multiple awards to be announced at its fifth annual Earth Day Awards Luncheon on April 5.
Corporate awards will be given to an outstanding corporate and individual friend of the environment. There will also be an award presented in honor of former president, volunteer and board member Dr. Allen Hutchcroft, titled The Hutchcroft Environmental Youth Award.
The corporate awards luncheon is scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., and will be held at Giovanni's Restaurant and Convention Center. It is located at 610 N. Bell School Road.

Ray Kroc Award Presented to East Ridge McDonald's Manager
McDonald’s Manager Tracey Moore learned Wednesday that she had been selected as one of the top McDonald’s managers in the nation and a winner of the 2011 Ray Kroc Award. Moore manages the McDonald's Restaurant in East Ridge on Ringgold Rd.
Named after McDonald’s founder Ray Kroc, the corporate awards are given to managers who deliver superior results in selected areas of performance -- operational excellence, commitment to people, and building the business. The honor comes with a cash award, a Ray Kroc award trophy and pin and a trip to Chicago for a corporate awards gala this April.

ACE Awards Presented by Secretary of State Clinton
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton presented the Secretary of State’s 2011 Award for Corporate Excellence (ACE) to Sahlman Seafoods, Incorporated, in Nicaragua; Procter & Gamble in Nigeria; and Procter & Gamble in Pakistan. In Pakistan, Procter & Gamble’s exemplary humanitarian assistance efforts include providing clean drinking water, food, hygiene products, medical care, and laundry services after unprecedented flooding in the region; cultivating sustainable partnerships to establish schools, early education programs, support for orphanages; reduction of carbon dioxide emissions at its facilities; and collaboration with universities to develop young business leaders.

Belk Among Jerry Awards Recipients

NDTV to Honor India Inc at Awards Gala
